The product shown is a skid-plate for the DL1000. The main part consists of an aluminum plate while the side covers are made from high-quality non-flammable polycarbonate plastic. It is designed to protect the lower parts of the motorcycle, especially the oil filter and cooler from curbs, stones and other road debris. This skid-plate is designed to provide critical protection while at the same time remaining lightweight and elegant. It is also designed to provide sufficient air flow to the oil cooler and only affect ground clearance to a minimum degree. You do not need to remove it to change the oil.
Installation Instructions
Due to our new design, you do NOT need crash-bars to install this skid-plate. It is compatible with all types of crash-bars and center-stands. All needed hardware is included and the installation is very easy. Please see additional notes here.
